Early Christian Georgian Literature
Making Christian Identity in an Iranic Culture
This Element reevaluates the genesis and early development of Georgian literature. Sparked by the Christian invention of a Georgian script ca. 400 AD, Georgian literature was a product of the Christianization of Caucasia. This Element engages not only the Christianization of Georgia's Iranic peoples but also the Georgianization of Christianity.
