Janne Buurman, born in Vlissingen 1948, The Netherlands, is a survivor of the Great Flood Disaster of 1953 in the province of Zeeland, who currently lives and works in Amsterdam. Besides novels he writes poetry, short stories, song lyrics, as well as columns in a local magazine.
