This book offers a comprehensive analysis of the Cultural and Creative Sector (CCS) in Europe. It explores the current state of the field and outlines the essential requirements for transforming it into a leading economic sector both in Europe and globally. By a detailed examination of the CCS in various European countries, highlighting the unique characteristics, successes, and areas needing improvement in each, the book sheds light on the diverse landscapes of cultural and creative industries across the continent. Carlos Vaz de Carvalho holds a PhD (2001) in Technologies and Information Systems from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho. He is currently Professor Coordenador at the Computer Eng. Dep. of the Engineering School of the Porto Polytechnic (ISEP) and Director of Virtual Campus Lda, an SME dedicated to Technology Enhanced Learning and Serious Games. He authored over 250 publications and communications, including more than ten books (as author and editor), related to the Creative Sector.
