The study shows how pension policies and labour market reforms shape and amplify individual pension gaps. Along with an increasing social inequality caused by state regulations, the responsibility for an old age pension that preserves the standard of living and a well-deserved retirement is shifted from the state towards employers and employees as wells as towards the market.
